
STAVROS KARELIS
Stavros Karelis is the Head of Fashion at the Onassis Foundation, where he leads the Foundation's fashion strategy across educational and curatorial programming while shaping its retail vision through a range of business initiatives and platforms.
Previously, he was the Buying & Creative Director of the pioneering London concept store MACHINE-A, which he founded over fifteen years ago.
Karelis serves on the British Fashion Council's NEWGEN womenswear and menswear committees, the British Fashion Awards Nominations Jury, and the British Fashion Council Scholarships Panel. He is also a jury member for Berlin Fashion Week's Contemporary Competition and Official Show Committee, as well as the Camera Moda Fashion Trust. In 2019, he was invited as a guest judge for the prestigious L'Oréal Professionnel Award for the Central Saint Martins MA Fashion programme. In 2024, he was appointed an LVMH Prize Expert, joining the international network of industry leaders who identify and support the world's most promising emerging fashion talent.
His influence on the global fashion industry has been widely recognised. He was named by GQ among the 35 Most Successful Men, included in Highsnobiety's list of the 15 Most Stylish Influencers, and has been featured in the BoF 500 every year since 2016, recognising the people shaping the global fashion industry.
