Maria Lalaounis

Maria Lalaounis was born in Athens, Greece. Maria studied at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island in the US and graduated with a double BA degree in Fine Art and Economics. She got her Masters in Art Business Administration from New York University. After working for a year at Sotheby’s in New York at the 19th century European Paintings department, she went on to join the family business at its headquarters in Athens. Maria is CEO Greece and Creative Director of LALAOUNIS. She embraces ancient art and history with the same appreciation and enthusiasm of her late father, Ilias Lalaounis, and creates collections that are innovative and inspirational, representative of the LALAOUNIS distinctive design and unparalleled craftsmanship. Together with her 3 sisters, each one responsible for a different aspect of the business, they continue a long family tradition and drive the influential brand to new heights of excellence and at the forefront of contemporary jewelry creation.
